My name is Francisco Catao and i am a senior animator, animation director, animation supervisor. But before all that, I am a person of the world.
I started my carreer in Brazil when I was only 16 and since then I have lived in Sydney, Australia twice working for the gaming industry as an animation lead, in Vancouver, Canada, working for TV shows and advertising as an animator, and in Brazil, working remotely for companies like Mikros Animation, Brazen Animation and HBO (through Awesome and Modest Studio) among others, as a senior animator. Today i work at LittleZoo Studio, attending some of the biggest clients an animator can dream of, such as Netflix, Dreamworks and Riot.

Having that international experience gave me a taste for storytelling. Getting to know other cultures made me passionate about the million ways you can tell a story. And for me, that is what made animation my true passion. The chance we have to tell any story in any way, with anyone and most importantly anywhere.
When i mean animation, i mean any kind of animation. After more than 8 years of experience I realized that, in the same way I don`t limit myself to one country, I don`t limit myself to one style of animation. Having started with 2D cut out and migrating to 3D and hand drawn, it became clear that the most important thing is to tell a story and connect with people through it. How you gonna get there is just a matter of how. And for me, that "how" took me all over and keeps taking me to the most amazing places in the world. The fun part is wondering, where am i going to land next and what is the next chapter in my own story.
